Stateside performer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular television series including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles on Monday following cancer treatment since 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones stated in a message.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles are "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.
Pat Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
