The British government is prepared to move forward with using the total value of immobilized Russian funds to bolster Ukraine's war effort, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a collective announcement, the officials of the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this joint measure would heighten pressure on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to participate in talks.

They clarified that the decision would be executed in tight collaboration with the America.

British restrictions have immobilized over £25bn of Russian resources since Russia launched its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, until now, funds provided to Ukraine using Russia's funds had solely been taken from gains and dividends generated on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, France, and Germany were united in their goal to push forward toward using the full value of the frozen Moscow's national holdings to end the war.

He added that more measures in the coming days and weeks would increase the strain on Russia.

This statement is subsequent to European Union officials met in the Danish capital recently to debate utilizing seized Russia's assets for a €140bn credit to the Ukrainian nation.

In the previous month, US President Donald Trump urged Group of Seven partners to seize or utilize seized Russian assets, based on media sources.

The worth of immobilized Russia's assets in the European Union is estimated to be almost €211bn.

Russia executed widespread aerial attacks throughout the Ukrainian territory on Friday, leading to blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the city, and multiple additional areas.

A pair of individuals were killed and a minimum of 20 people were injured in the assault, Ukrainian officials stated.

In a post on an online platform subsequent to the attack, Zelensky commented that the strategic strike aimed at public and utility structures.

"The necessity is not empty words but firm measures - from the United States, the European Union, and the G7 - in providing anti-aircraft weapons and applying restrictions," he stated.

"All penalty impositions diminishes the Russian war effort," Zelensky declared, in a separate post.

Also on Friday, Zelensky stated to the press he would encourage Sir Keir to join the weapons procurement scheme, under which Nato countries buy weapons from the US to donate to the Ukrainian forces.

While applauding the UK's firm backing for the Ukrainian government, he noted it should send a clear signal that it would take part in the system, as well as apply additional restrictions on Moscow.
