Cars in Germany's City Found Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police mentioned they were notified by a individual who discovered a car in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Roughly 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a statement.

Officers say they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.

The substance had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then located numerous other smeared cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials say initial examinations show the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; authorities are currently not informed of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they added.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the community for details.

An important representative commented the incident made him without words and needed to be solved promptly.

"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, recalling the murder of nine people by a gunman aiming at people of migrant background in February 2020.
