Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Regional Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is uncertain and the United States has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have shot down missiles in their air space.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the government.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with notable success and shot down a several projectiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted debris landed in a residential area in the capital, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
