Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match winning run came to an end by Sunderland before the global hiatus, however can the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated football expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, readers and a range of special visitors.
For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
Murs' latest album, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Football and Parenting Life
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!
"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.
"I will not force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday football team," he added.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's only on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.
So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?
I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.
A family member advised me to select Bees forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.
They have not had great fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.
They have got plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.
Their performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.
However I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Considering Fulham's home form, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
The expert's prediction: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
